While in Shrewsbury, Timothy happened upon a good door knob and hung from it. The door knob belonged to a church, and it is a church with an interesting background: it’s the church that Charles Darwin went to as a child.
Timothy has never expressed any religious beliefs (or, to be fair, doubts) – but being a dog who is game for most things, he has been to church a few times.
We initially thought “Well, they say it’s the church that Charles Darwin went to as a child – but that would’ve been when he had no choice”. After a little reading though, that’s not the case… Darwin intended becoming a clergyman and went to the University of Cambridge to study theology. He married a Christian woman in a church when he was 30, but 10 years later “would go for a walk on Sundays while his family attended church”
